Volkswagen has announced that it will soon launch a three-row SUV on its electric vehicle architecture. This electric SUV will be called ID.8 and expected that its size and style is slightly smaller than the ID.6 and much larger than ID.4. It will have three rows of seats and seating for up to seven riders. Dual-motor will provide with rear-wheel drive will likely be standard, all-wheel-drive arrangement will probably be optional.
It's currently unclear how big a battery Volkswagen will offer here, but maybe the battery can be chosen as either a 58.0 kWh or 77.0 kWh pack, with a driving range of up to 365 miles. Fast-charging technology will undoubtedly be standard.
ID.8 put three rows of seats into contention, with the more expensive Rivian R1S and Tesla Model X as family-friendly SUVs with an all-electric powertrain. All models will offer a large 12.0-inch infotainment touchscreen and likely come with a panoramic glass roof for much of the car's controls.
We expected to see the ID.8 model in 2023.
