Cupra has unveiled the Urban Rebel Concept, a bold racing-inspired car. The Cupra Urban Rebel Concept is the brand's idea for an aggressive, wildly styled hot hatch debuting at the IAA Munich International Motor Show. Strip away the big wing and bright paint, and Cupra says you can get an idea of its future urban, all-electric car that's coming in 2025. The Cupra Urban Rebel rides on the Volkswagen Group's MEB short platform. Despite being an EV, it wears an aggressive body with a massive grille at the front, which doesn't usually require the amount of airflow as a vehicle.
There are aero wheels and triangular elements behind the ones in front. At the back, there are powerful fender flares. Cupra says the wraparound window graphic is supposed to evoke a helmet on the sporty vehicle. The body features a series of yellow dots of different sizes that starts at the hood, run in an arc over the side of the car, and end at the rear pillar. A matching element outlines the rear fenders and sides of the diffuser.
Mechanically, the Cupra Urban Rebel Concept produces the 77 kW battery pack with 335 horsepower (250 kilowatts) of continuous power and a peak of 429 hp. This can get the vehicle to 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in 3.2 seconds. The driving range is 370 miles on a single charge. The concept follows this principle and measures at 4,080mm long, 50mm shorter than SEAT's current Arona. The show car's roofline is significantly lower than the compact SUV's, although it's likely that at least some of this difference will be down to aggressive, lowered suspension.
