The company introduced the brand-new ES8, a multipurpose smart electric flagship SUV that meets demands for family life, business, socializing, and adventure at Nio Day 2022. The ES8 and the EC7, Nio's other electric SUV model, were unveiled together. The NT 2.0 platform is now the foundation for the brand-new ES8. Nio's models created on the NT 1.0 platform will be upgraded to the NT 2.0 platform. Thus, the firm will also have new models to introduce in the first half of 2023. The look and dimensions have been somewhat updated compared to the ES8 NT1 from 2018. The front resembles another SUV built on the NT2 platform, the ES7 (EL7). Only a 6-seat configuration will be available inside (ES8 has a 7-seat version, but the new ES8 cancels it).

The standard, Executive, and Signature versions are the three configurations Nio provides for the ES8. The basic model pricing of the new ES8 is RMB $75,500, which includes a battery pack option with a capacity of 75 kWh and a claimed range of 465 km. The 100 kWh model, with a starting price of $83,800, is said to have a range of 605 kilometers. Starting prices for the ES8 Executive model are $78,400 for the 75 kWh pack and $86,700 for the 100 kWh package. The only battery pack currently offered with the ES8 Signature variant is a 100 kWh battery pack. Starting at $91,300, it is expensive.

The NIO ES8 EV’s dimensions are 5099 mm in length, 1989 mm in width, and 1750 mm in height, and the wheelbase is 3070 mm. With a curb weight of 2560 kg, the new ES8 is 100 kg more than the outgoing model's 2460 kg curb weight. But fear not, it has also gained additional strength.

The Nio ES8's second-generation electric drive architecture allows it to reach 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and generate a maximum power output of 480 kW and 850 Nm of torque. The top speed of the NIO ES8 EV is 200km/h.

Three wheel sizes are available for the new car: 20 inches, 21 inches, and 22 inches. 255/50 R20, 265/45 R21, and 265/40 R22 are the tire sizes.

Customers can already make reservations for the new ES8 from Nio, and deliveries should begin in June 2023. From the beginning of June, Nio showrooms will offer to test-drive and display vehicles.
