Honda has unveiled the new Motocompacto, a modern all-electric take on the Honda Motocompo that was on sale in the 1980s. The e-scooter will be sold online and through Honda and Acura dealers. Although the brand-new Motocompacto from the Japanese automaker borrows from its forerunner, it adopts an aesthetic that makes it look like it's right out of a sci-fi movie set in 2050. The internet is going wild over its out-of-the-world design. It is intended to compress into a small suitcase-like shape. When unfolded, the vehicle provides a seat, a handlebar, and footpegs. The Honda Motocompacto measures 968mm long, 437mm wide, and 889mm tall. A 490-watt, 16Nm electric motor gives the Motocompacto a top speed of 24km/h. It is powered by a 6.8Ah battery pack, which, the brand claims, has a range of 19 kilometres. This should turn this into a handy little tool. When the battery is completely discharged, Honda claims that utilising the onboard charger plugged into a 15-amp outlet will take 3.5 hours to recharge it fully. Although it's not exactly light, the Motocompacto should be manageable to travel thanks to its weight, which stands at 19 kilograms.
