Introduction: Mercedes is set to release a new addition to its EQS line, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV. This luxury SUV will offer a high level of comfort and luxury and will be the only all-electric luxury SUV among its rivals.
Exterior: The Maybach version of the EQS SUV will have minor styling tweaks, with less emphasis on making it stand out from the standard EQS. It will be based on the Mercedes EQS 580 SUV, so its exterior dimensions should be similar. The car's length should be around 201.8 inches, with a width of 77.1 inches without mirrors and 84.9 inches with them. The wheelbase will be around 126.4 inches, and the height around 67.6 inches.
Powertrain: The powertrain for the Maybach EQS SUV has not been officially revealed yet, but it is expected to start with the 580/600 badge, which means at least 536 horsepower and 633 lb-ft of torque, with a sprint from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds. It may also have access to the 649-hp/700-lb-ft AMG twin-motor setup for a performance flagship. The Maybach EQS SUV is likely to have the same 108.4-kWh battery as the EQS 580 SUV, which offers an EPA-estimated range of 285 miles on a full charge.
Charging: The Maybach EQS SUV will likely have a 0-100% charging time of 12 and a half hours on a 9.6-kW AC charger or 31 minutes from 10-80% on a 200-kW DC charger, assuming it has the same battery as the EQS 580 SUV.
Production: The Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV will be built in the same factory as the EQS SUV in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The release date has not been officially announced, but it was initially planned for a 2023 release.
Competition: The Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV will compete with other upper-crust luxury SUV rivals, such as the Rolls-Royce Cullinan and Bentley Bentayga, but will be the only all-electric one among them. It will also be a comparative bargain next to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
