Bajaj Auto finally launched the Chetak Premium in India just a few weeks after updating the Urbane model. The Chakan-based bikemaker’s flagship has received some crucial updates, which should now enhance the value for money and also make the package seem better than before. So, if the updated Chetak Premium suits you, then here are five things to know about it.
Design:
Although the Chetak has been updated, its design is the same as before. Much of the re-work has been done on the internals. The 2024 Chetak Premium boasts the same retro design with a round headlight, curved front apron, and curvy side panels. It continues with the flat floorboard and the single-piece seat as well. You can purchase the latest Chetak Premium in three paint schemes – Indigo Blue, Brooklyn Black, and Hazelnut.
Features:
One of the most significant updates for the 2024 Chetak Premium comes in the form of features. The retro e-scooter gets LED illumination and gets the TecPac. The latter equips the Chetak with a larger TFT screen and smartphone connectivity. It gives you access to turn-by-turn navigation, onscreen music controls, call alerts, hill hold control, and reverse mode, and personalise the theme of the display. Compared to the older model, the 2024 Chetak offers notably more features.
Motor and battery:
Bajaj has bumped the range as well as the top speed of the Chetak to make it even more practical. The e-scooter is equipped with a new 3.2kWh battery that gives it a maximum claimed range of 127km and now the top speed too has increased to 73kmph. Bajaj will also offer a new 800W charger, which recharges the battery with a 15.6km range in 30 minutes.
Hardware:
The front and rear monoshock, along with the single disc setup with CBS, has remained unchanged on the new 2024 Chetak Premium. Even the swanky-looking alloy wheels are the same as before. However, Bajaj has tweaked the underseat storage to make it larger and offer more practicality.
