Introduced:
The 450 Apex, developed to commemorate Ather Energy's ten years in the Indian EV sector, has been launched in India. This Ather model will be the fastest ever, with a new Warp+ mode that will outpace the 450X's already fast Warp mode. The bookings for the 450 Apex are currently being accepted at authorized dealerships. The model will be sold in limited numbers, with customer deliveries starting in March 2024.
Electric:
Both the 3.7kWh battery pack and the suspension and braking system from the 450X are still present. The Apex comes equipped with tyre pressure monitoring as standard but not with anti-lock braking (ABS). It has a stronger motor that produces 9.38 horsepower at its most significant power output, 0.80 bhp more than the original 450X. The torque output, however, remains at 26 Nm. With an improved 'Warp+' ride mode and a top speed of 100 km/h, the Apex is the first Ather. It can reach 40 km/h from 0 in 2.9 seconds, which is roughly half as fast as a typical scooter.
Features:
A new, sophisticated, regenerative braking system that works with a brand-new energy management algorithm called "Magic Twist" is another essential feature. According to Ather, the technology is capable of completely stopping the scooter without the need for brake lever inputs. It also guarantees smooth and reliable operation regardless of the battery's state of charge (SoC). The total approved range has increased somewhat as a result to 157-kilometre (150-kilometre for the base model).
Styling:
The 450 Apex is essentially the same as the regular 450X. Still, Ather decided to give it a unique paint treatment that blends a two-layer "Indium Blue" paint job with contrast orange paint for the wheels, emblems, and frame to set it apart from the other 450 models visually. A playful addition to the 450 Apex is the near-transparent side panels, which are reminiscent of the translucent panels initially seen on the Ather 450X Series 1.
