kawasaki w230 2024 overview

Introduced:

Kawasaki has unveiled its brand-new modern classic, the W230, at the ongoing Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo's Big Sight International Exhibition Centre. The W230 draws inspiration for its retro-styling from Kawasaki's W series models. Hence, the roadster adopts a classic design language with elements such as a single round headlamp, a cabuton-style exhaust system plastered in chrome, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, spoked wheels, etc. It even gets a long, retro-patterned seat and round mirrors reminiscent of the W800 Street and motorcycles sold in the W1 era.

Engine:

In terms of powertrain, the bike gets a 998cc inline four-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, which churns out 114.9Nm of peak torque and 200.2bhp. Power is sent to wheels via a six-speed gearbox supported by a quick shifter. As for rider aids, the model offers LED illumination, ABS, engine brake control, cornering management function, cruise control, power modes, launch control, etc.

Accessories:

The bike's suspension system is made up of 43mm inverted balance-free forks with rebound & compression damping, as well as spring preload adjustability at the front and a gas-charged mono-shock at the rear. Stopping power comes from twin 330mm discs in front and a solitary 220mm disc in the back, with ABS. The bike rolls on 17-inch wheels with 120/70 front and 190/55 rear tyres.
