The BYD-developed BYD D1 2023 is a purpose-built electric compact multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), cooperating with DiDi exclusively developed for ride-hailing services. Didi Chuxing Technology Co, formerly named Didi Kuaidi and DiDi Dache, is a Chinese vehicle for Hire Company headquartered in Beijing. This Company allied with automakers including BAIC, Volkswagen, and BYD to develop purpose-built intelligent vehicles for fleet management and ride-hailing.
The BYD D1 2023 compact MPV is powered by one Permanent Magnet Synchronous electric motor with a 100 kW (136 hp) power and is equipped with a 53.6kWH cobalt-free LFP battery. The maximum D1 speed is 130 km/h. It features a sliding door on the right side to free passengers from opening the door, and the vehicle also has more extensive legroom for back seat passengers.
